1st position in NASA Rover Challenge ASIA CUP 2017 has been jointly won by two ISTC teams in the “Jesco Von Puttkamer India Cup 2017” on 12th and 13th October 2017 organised at Amity University NOIDA, in with collaboration with M/s Tec Mantra Labs - Global (India). This was a Pre-Rover Challenge to the NASA Rover Challenge, USA. Students made a mechanical Rover/ Moon Buggy and demonstrated the buggies on a track simulating a lunar surface.

Over 95 ISTCians donated blood during the second blood donation camp organised by ISTC. Sponsored by State Bank of India Sector 30 Branch and conducted by Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER) Chandigarh.

Mr Rajan Sharma, Alumni of ISTC and Managing Director of Kyowa Co Ltd, Japan along with the President of the company Mr Shigharu Nozawa visited CSIR-CSIO and ISTC on Thursday. Mr Nozawa informed that he was aware of the strengths of the students of ISTC and a large percentage of the employees of Kyowa Co Ltd were from ISTC. Announcing Post-Graduate year long diploma courses of CSIR-CSIO under the CSIR Integrated Skill Initiatives in CAD/CAM (20 seats) and Mechatronics (20 seats). These courses are part of the CSIR Integrated Skill Initiative. The courses will be conducted at ISTC. More details at

The Entrance Test for admission to the Indo-Swiss Training Centre was conducted on Sunday 09-7-2017. Around 1,449 students had applied for admission and 1,231 appeared for the entrance test for a total intake of 140 seats as informed Mr. Narinder Singh Jassal, Principal.

The 52nd Convocation of Indo-Swiss Training Centre (ISTC) was held on June 30, 2017. Sh. P. K. Changoiwala, General Manager, Bharat Electronics Ltd., Ministry of Defence, Govt of India, was the Chief Guest on the occasion. Click here for the full report.

On 29th June,2017 the ISTC Old Students Association held a mentoring, session for the students in the forenoon. This was followed by a Prize Distribution Ceremony of the ISTC Sports Week held from March 20-24, 2017. The Chief Guest was Professor (Dr) Neena Sinha,University School of Management Studies, GGS Indraprastha University.

This year at ISTC eighty percent of the eligible students who opted for placements were placed with companies like HLS
Asia Ltd, SML, Fanuc, Titan, etc . While the maximum salary package offered is ₹ 6 lakhs, the average package is ₹ 3 lakhs.

ISTC bags 1st Prize in the Project Exhibition organized by Maharishi Markendeshwar University at Sadopur from 6th to 8th April 2017. ISTCians Gaurav Baweja & Dheeraj Kumar were awarded for their prototype on “IoT based Home Automation System”, under the guidance of Sh. Upendra Kumar and Dr. Jitendra Virmani.

ISTCians bag first and second place in ‘IOT Patron’ in S&T Festival TechInvent-2017 of Chandigarh University on 31st March-1 April 2017. Gaurav Baweja, Dheeraj Kumar, Pulkit, and Amit Chander came first for their entry on “IOT based Home Automation System”. Puneet Paul, Ankit Lakhani, Harshit Dhiman and Prince Kumar were aclose second for their entry on Digi-Meter. Congratulations to both teams.

ISTC has bagged the Bronze medal and a Rupees fifty thousand Cash Prize in the 2nd Mitsubishi Electric Cup, a national level competition for Factory Automation organized by Mitsubishi Electric India Pvt Ltd at Pune.

Week 2 of an eight-week management development programme on programmable logic controller (PLC) and industrial automation, began at the the Indo Swiss Training Centre on February 14, 2017.

A Blood Donation Camp was held on December 8, 2016 at ISTC in association with CSIR-CSIO and HDFC Bank at ISTC. A large number of ISTCians volunteered to donate blood on the occassion.

ISTC represents Chandigarh in the first workshop for Vocational Education Leadership Training (VELT) Programme, jointly organized by Australia-India Government and held in New Delhi from November 21 to 23, 2016. Click here for the full report.

On September 30, 2016, ISTC Day was celebrated with a cross country run in the morning. 40 5-member teams participated, including 3 girls teams. A cultural programme in the afternoon prepared by the students also welcomed the newly joined students.

The 51st Convocation of the Indo-Swiss Training Centre was held on July 1, 2016. Dr Manjit Singh, Director, Terminal Ballistics Research Laboratory, Chandigarh was the Chief Guest. Nearly 150 students were awarded Diploma's and Post Diploma's on the occasion.

Shri Narinder Singh, Senior Scientist, has been nominated as Vice Principal, ISTC.

ISTC awarded the "Most Promising Technical Education College of The Year Award" for 2016. The Award was received by Principal Sh VPS Kalsi from the Hon'ble Member of Parliament Smt Kirron Kher on March 15, 2016 in Asia Education Summit and Award held at Hotel The Ashok, New Delhi.
